The Six Nations Wall Initiative

With support from the Ontario Climbing Federation, Brandon Barraclough has organized and led a recreational climbing program aimed at introducing indigenous youth to the sport of climbing.

This program began in May and has since introduced the sport to dozens of kids in the area.

Brandon took an existing climbing wall in a community centre located in Ohsweken Ontario and outfitted it with new holds, frequent resets from guest setters across Ontario and an autobelay. Thanks to generous community donations he was also able to buy new climbing shoes, harnesses and chalk bags for the kids.
The program has taken trips to other climbing gyms in the area and in the spring, will organize outdoor climbing trips with local guiding companies.
His goal is to create something long lasting and sustainable and to build a climbing community for years to come. This requires a great deal of upkeep and training new staff at the centre. Equipment needs to be checked, maintained and replaced in order for this program to grow. Any and all support is crucial to the longevity of this climbing program! Weissvin has pledged that 10% of every purchase will go toward supporting Brandon and his partners in continuing this amazing work :)
